Science help-identify the dependant and controlled variable?

10 potted plants are given fertalizer and another 10 potted plants are not give any fertilizer. All 20 plants are the same type and are all given the same amount of soil, water and light.

what are the dependable and controlled variables in that?

THANKS SO MUCH!Science help-identify the dependant and controlled variable?
You should study the meaning of independent and dependent variables. The control usually refers to the independent variable and is not usually called the controlled but is called the independent variable.

In science, math and statistics, when experiments are done; they refer to independent and dependent variables. A controlled variable refers to one that can be changed. In that case, the controlled variable can also be called the independent variable. The dependent variable would be the results of your experiment that are changed by changing your independent or controlled variable.

In your experiment, the controlled or independent variable is the fertilizer. You have 10 potted plants with fertilizer and 10 potted plants without fertilizer. You have the ability to control the fertilizer, i.e. you put fertilizer in some plants and not in others.

The dependent variable is the outcome or results of fertilized plants versus unfertilized plants. In other words, the results, depend totally on your controlled variable of putting fertilizer or not putting fertilizer. For example, fertilized plants will grow better than unfertilized. This result is dependent on the amount of fertilizer or it's dependent on the controlled or independent variable that you control.Science help-identify the dependant and controlled variable?
soil, water, light - controlled

fertilizer - dependent
same type,s oil, water and light = controlled

height plants grew to = dependent
