What is the manipulated variable, the responding variable and what are the 2 controlled variable?

I have this hw, but i can't seem to figure out this question:

Does the number of eggs a chicken will lay depend on the amount of time the lights are left on inside the barn?

what is the manipulated variable, the responding variable and what are the 2 controlled variable?

Please help. I can't seem to figure out this problem. What is the manipulated variable, the responding variable and what are the 2 controlled variable?
manipulated variable: the one you change --%26gt; the amount of time the lights are left on

responding variable: the response you want to check --%26gt; the number of eggs a chicken will lay

two control variables: the chicken, and the brightness of the lightWhat is the manipulated variable, the responding variable and what are the 2 controlled variable?
The manipulated variable (or independent variable) is the lights.

The responding variable (or dependent variable) is the number of eggs

The controlled variables would be the type of lighting, the chickens used, conditions of the barn... and the list goes on. Pick any two you like!!

I hope that helps.
