In an exeriment, what is a control??or a controlled variable??

it's a variable whose effect you try to remove. For instance, if I'm doing a study to see the effect of eating fruits and veggies on weight, I might control for exercise and overall calories consumed. these may also affect weight and they probably correlate with f%26amp;V consumption (people who eat more f%26amp;v prob eat fewer cals and exercise more), but it's not their impact i care about. In an exeriment, what is a control??or a controlled variable??
A controlled variable is one that you want to change. Let's say you are doing an experiment comparing how often a dog sticks out its tongue at different temperature. The temperature would be the controlled variable. Everything else are called constant variable (cuz they should be kept constant). In an exeriment, what is a control??or a controlled variable??
Constant and control are interchangable. It's one aspect of an experiment, with the variable being the other. All of the previous answers use examples of controls and variables. The dog is an easy one to understand. You always use the same dog (control/constant), but adjust room temp to see when it starts to pant (variable).
The control variable is something that you control, but can alter to different values to take mesurements of the variable you intend to measure.

Say you were measuring how resistance changes with temperature.

You could alter the temperature using a heater, this would be the control variable. The measurement variable would be the resistance, which you would note for each value of temperature you set.
