I'm putting hot water in baby food jars (3), taking the temperature and wrapping them with different materials (cotton, wool, polyester) and about an hour later, I'm measuring the temperature again and comparing which material kept the water the closest to the temperature it started out with.What is the manipulated variable, responding, and control in this experiment?
Manipulated variable is the cloth, in scientific terms it is conductivity.
You are studying the effect of conductivity on Heat loss.
Responding variable is heat loss. (Temperature difference)
Control is time = 1 hour.
